South Fork, Long Island, NY - Surf Fishing

By Capt Andy LoCascio - 10/28/2004 - Short URL: https://neangling.com/?p=407 - Views: 178984

Surf FishingCaptains Andy and Rich hook up with Fisherman publisher Fred Golofaro. They spend the day experiencing the fall bite surf fishing on the south fork of Long Island. Blitzing fish, screaming birds, and load of action. They catch plenty of bluefish and striped bass to over 20lbs on plugs, bucktails, and soft plastic shads.

The surf fishing techniques and tackle in this show can be used by anyone who wants to experience the fall surf run.

“This was actually a very tough show to film.  The surf fishing bite in Montauk can be unreliable at times.  The fish and the wind/surf conditions can change in an instant and shut the bite down.  It took three trips before we got into the bite we needed late on the third day.  It was truly a pleasure fishing with the legendary Fred Golofaro!” Capt Andy LoCascio
