Saltwater fishing organizations and clubs supported by Northeast Angling TV
The following is a list of links to fishing organizations with valuable relevant content for our visitors.
- Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA): The only national organization that can legally lobby full time on behalf of saltwater anglers. The RFA has been successfully organizing America's saltwater anglers, conservationists, fishing clubs, marine manufacturers and retailers into a national grass roots lobbying organization. Its goal is to safeguard the rights of those saltwater anglers, protect jobs in the marine boat and tackle industries, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our nation's saltwater fisheries.
- NY Sportfishing Federation (NYSF): A not-for-profit organization that is recognized nationally and locally at all levels of government. It is dedicated to preserving the marine habitat and maintaining the bio-diversity of our marine resources. The Federation actively serves on numerous ASMFC fishery management boards.
- Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association (RISAA): Represent over 5,500 anglers and 27 affiliated clubs in Rhode Island. Their members serve on all regional fisheries councils, and are heavily involved in marine conservation programs in Rhode Island. RISAA has accepted a leadership role in order to provide a unified voice to preserve and protect the rights, traditions and future of recreational angling.
- Fishermen's Conservation Association (FCA),: A 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote the "Conservation Triad": Access, Habitat, and Fisheries Management. Financial support of FCA directly benefits New York, New Jersey and Connecticut's marine waters. The association's immediate priorities include fighting the proposed dumping of toxic waste in Jamaica Bay, illegal poaching, beach access and a variety of fisheries related issues.
- Massachusetts Striped Bass Association (MSBA): The biggest and oldest saltwater fishing club in New England open to the public, founded in 1950. The objectives of this Association are; to promote and encourage interest in salt water sport fishing: to provide opportunities for those interested in salt water sport fishing to gather for entertainment and good fellowship; to uphold sound conservation practices and laws and to see that these laws are carried out by its members; to further good sportsmanship and to disseminate information concerning saltwater sport fishing both to Association members and others.
- Connecticut Surfcasters Association (CSA): A not-for-profit organization established for the promotion, protection and preservation of the surfcasting tradition in its many forms along our coasts. It does this by keeping members informed of the activities of the state and local governments regarding their fisheries. It sponsors annual beach clean-ups in the Madison, CT and Westerly, RI areas.
