Special note from Capt Andy LoCascio:

“The 8 inch version of this lure is my FIRST choice when targeting big yellowfin tuna.  I always travel with several lures in a variety of colors.

Honestly, I really don’t focus very much on selecting the best color, they all seem to work well when it comes to yellowfin.  Achieving maximum casting distance is critical and at nearly 5 ounces this lure is perfect for the heaviest spinning tackle.

The smaller size  (2 1/2 ounces) is more suited for targeting inshore fish on lighter tackle which would typically be over-powered by the larger size.”

Yes, the Sashimi Bull Metallic is very easy to work with, even for novice anglers. Its casting distance and handling make it user-friendly, helping beginners catch species like striped bass, bluefish, and tuna.

The 8-inch version of the Sashimi Bull Metallic, weighing nearly 5 ounces, is recommended for big yellowfin tuna. It provides excellent casting distance, making it a first choice for heavy spinning tackle used in offshore fishing for trophy fish.

The smaller 5 7/8 inch lure weighing 2 1/2 ounces is better suited for inshore fishing on lighter tackle. It provides sufficient power without overpowering smaller rods, making it ideal for species encountered closer to shore.

According to Capt Andy LoCascio, color choice is less critical when fishing for yellowfin tuna, as all colors of the Sashimi Bull tend to work well. Instead, maximizing casting distance is more important for successful tuna plugging.
