Weakfish tackle varies greatly depending on the size of the fish you are targeting and the depth. Shallow water fishing provides a great opportunity to target these fish on light tackle. We have prepared detailed lists of recommended tackle for both techniques.
This fish has quite a broad range (though usually prefers warmer waters). Unfortunately, young weakfish fall prey to nearly every other major inshore species including stripers, fluke, and bluefish.
