Ranging from “snapper” size (yearlings) all the way up to “slammers” (20lbs or more), Bluefish are incredibly entertaining and there are many ways to catch them. We split the recommended tackle into plugging and chunking/live lining because the gear is significantly different. Plugging can be really exciting as bluefish are very aggressive when attacking a popping plug.
