Bait Presentation - Cut Bunker

Andy describes the most effective way to hook cut bunker.

We prefer to cut bunker on a slight angle as it can actually help to reduce spin. When hooking the head, place the hook the the top of the head in the meatiest part which is where the hook is going to come out easiest. Also, by hooking the bunker on one of the three points it is less likely to spin, which would not have been achieved had we not cut the bait on a slant.

When beginning to cut the body of the bunker, make sure you keep the same slant going. An average sized cut for a body piece is around 1 inch, but can be cut much thinner when the fish become finicky. We prefer to place the heart on hook as it acts as a great attractant for the bait as well.
