Regional Fishing Report

North Shore

Bass have been seen on the North Shore up to 30lbs lately with 12-20 as a very steady average. Bunker chunks in the back of the bays and near the mouths have been the ticket although pulling tube and worm has almost been as productive seeing fish to 34″. The bunker are here but not showing up in great numbers just yet so we will see what happens within the next few weeks.

Peconic Bay was reported to have a good population of bunker with bass to 20lbs actively feeding on the live.

City Island has been the spot for flounder with people averaging 4 keepers per trip all on sandworms.

South Shore

Bassing on the South shore hasn’t been as productive as it is on the North Shore but things are still warming up.

The blues are out by Captree in great numbers and size with fish averaging 4-10lbs caught on Plugs, Jigs, Soft Plastics and anything else, as you can imagine.

Charter boats are hitting the fluke hard with some catching up to 30 fish per trip and seeing some hitting 6lbs!

RI/Mass

Cod! Cod! and more Cod!

Stellwagen is absolutely loaded right now with most boats reaching their limits within the first 2hrs of fishing. Fishing depths of 90-120ft and seeing Cod and Pollack in the mid 20’s.
