The folks at Penn were kind enough to send us the newest addition to their rod collection. We waited for just the right bite to test it. During our last Block Island trip we tested it with reels loaded with 20lb mono and 30lb braid on some of the biggest stripers in the region.
We were using a 7′ blank rated for 12-20lb mono (15-40lb braid) with the reel loaded with 20lb mono. We landed stripers ranging from 20 to 44lbs on this outfit.
We also used a 7′ blank rated for 15-30lb mono (20-50lb braid) with a Penn Torque reel loaded with 30lb braid.
