Venice Louisiana - Underwater Tuna!

By Capt Andy LoCascio - 02/07/2012 - Short URL: https://neangling.com/?p=3962 - Views: 399411

While offshore fishing with the Mexican Gulf Fishing Company, Capt Andy, Capt Scotty, Mitch Wergiles and Steve Palmo got behind a shrimp boat and chummed up this massive ball of tuna and bonito. The yellowfin tuna were all over 110lbs and the blackfin tuna (25lbs+) and the bonito were all monsters. You will also notice some big blackfin sharks mixed in (and a few annoying smaller ones). The hardest part was presenting the bait so that only the big yellowfin were targeted.

This is a good test of your fish identificaiton skills! The yellowfin have very long fins. The blackfin are smaller, similar in color and shape, but with short fins. The bonito are striped.  The video was prodcued by Kyle Ondrey.
