The August 5 porgy fishing trip to historic Montauk Point, Long Island was quite successful. Andy and Rich’s guest, Capt. Joel Lizza of the Sea Otter Fleet, put them on a pile of big Porgies off of Gardiners Island. Calm seas and excellent conditions really turned the fish on. The action was incredible the entire time and only slowed when the chum ran low. Numerous double headers and two pound porgies illustrate what a great fishery this has become. All of the fish were caught anchored at depths under 25 feet.
“This was the first show we filmed with our good friend Capt Joel Lizza and our first show out of Montauk, NY. Gardiners Island is just a few miles away from Montauk Harbor and the most popular porgy fishing spot on the east end of Long Island.” Capt Andy LoCascio
