New Fishing Reports Site!
There is a new Fishing Reports website that has features saltwater inshore and offshore fishing reports for the USA. The site is totally free and you can get the reports delivered by daily email or as they are published (through twitter).
Reports ONLY From Fishing Professionals
Only charter captains, open boats, guides, tackle shops, marinas, outdoor writers, and other fishing professionals are allowed to post. Recreational anglers are not allowed to add reports or post comments. The reasons are simple; the most valuable information comes from the fishing pros, posted reports help promote their businesses, and times are really tough!
Moderated Reports
All of the reports are moderated to ensure they are reasonably accurate. It is always in the best interests of the authors to be accurate, their customers are going to be reading the same reports. That type of accountability if impossible to get from recreational anglers.
Delivered by Email or Twitter
Visitors can register to get their reports emailed to them every day. They can limit this information to their home states and local waters. The reports are also available as they are approved through twitter by following one or more of the state twitter accounts.
Always FREE for Everyone!
The network is free to both visitors or professionals. Fishing pros do not need to advertise or pay fees of any kind. In fact, fishing professionals are not allowed to advertise. However, every one of their reports includes information about their business, contact info, and a link to their website.
Fishing Industry Pressures
Rising gas prices, shrinking pro-staff budgets, ridiculous regulations, over fishing, and a struggling customer base has made it very tough for the folks whose “bottom line” is tied to fishing. The primary mission of the Fishing Reports Network is to give them a fighting chance!
Spread the Word (Please!)
The only way this will be successful is if the fishing pros learn about the new website and decide to participate. There are plently of reasons to contribute. So please pass the word to your favorite charter captains and open boats, local tackle shops and marinas, and anyone else who you think could benefit from some additional exposure.
